Choosing CD DVD Drives

Choosing CD DVD drives in not as complated as you might think.

Almost all computers these days come  compact disc drive. With a standard CD drive you can play music CDs and install software stored on CDs.

CD drive & DVD drive - This is a CD drive & DVD drive, which means that you can watch DVD's on your computer. which can be a nice thing so that your computer can double as a DVD player.

CD-R - CD-RW -The CD-R - CD-RW lets you record, and save/backup information that is on your hard disc. In other words you will be able to create your own music CD's, save data to a disc for safe keeping.

CD-R & DVD - This drive gives you the option of recording cd's and watching DVD, but you can't record DVD's.

CD-R and CD-RW & DVD-R, DVD+R or DVD-/+R - This optical drive is lets you record/create both CD's & DVD's. DVD's are able to store 4.7GB. This is also know as a single layer DVD.

CD-R and CD-RW & DVD-/+R DL double layer recorders (DVD-R, DVD+R or DVD-/+R). They can create both read and write CDs and DVD's. This drive can record/create DVD's that can hold 8.75GB twice the amount of a regular DVD.
