Laptop or Desktop

Which should you buy a laptop or desktop, that is the question?

With the price of laptops becoming less & less expensive owning a laptop is becoming more & more popular. There are some basic things that you should take into consideration before buying a desktop or a laptop.

One of the biggest differences between the two is the mobility. You might think at first that you really don't need to "take your computer anywhere", this might be true but here are a few things to ask yourself. Do you travel on the weekends or extended vacations? and you find yourself in need of a computer? 

Is there a problem of space? Would it be easier to work in different rooms of the house?  Do you have room for a computer table?  If you have a desktop, do you have room for a 2nd or 3rd computer?

There is still a big difference in the price, there is no doubt about it desktops still by far give you more for you money. 

Do you need to have a large hard disk for storage? If this is something that is important, there is a very easy solution, you can always add an external hard disk.

It is very expensive  & much more difficult to upgrade a laptop.  In most cases it is not a problem to change the video card, or add an extra hard drive. Your upgrade options are much more limited with a laptop. If you choose a laptop plan for the future remember what you need today maybe  not what you will need in 6 months.

Repairs in most cases repairs on a desktop are much much less expensive then, on a laptop there are situations where a laptop can't even be repaired.  If you are considering buying a laptop, consider an extended  guarantee.It really comes down to your pocket & your personal preference.
