Saving Money For A House

It is possible to make a dream become reality. The first thing that you are going to have to do is organize your financial affairs.

  1. Figure out how much money you are going to need to buy the house, plus all the expresses that come with buying the house. Do you need to pay the real estate agent, taxes, insurance etc?
  2. Figure out how much you will need to save each month & for how long. Having a plan will help you feel in control, and it will help you see an end in sight, even if it is a long long road.
  3. Check different banks to see if they have any special savings plans to help you buy a home. Some banks will give you better mortgage conditions, if you have been using their bank for a certain amount of time. Other banks have diff rent types of savings plans.
  4. Find out if there are any non-profit organizations and/or government agency's that can assist you in buying a home.
  5. If you are interested in buying a new home, check with the building company, they may be able to help you finance your new home.
  6. When you know people want to give you a gift let them know that you want to save for a house, and ask them to please give you a cash gift. Remmember every 10-20$ dollars helps.
  7. A unexpected amount of cash, if you receive cash from a tax refund, or law suite, bones from work, etc. put the toward your new home.
  8. If possible try living with a roommate/s, or an other couple, it could be a great way to save on expensive's.
  9. Sell your car if you are making car payments, and buy a car outright. Save the money that you would use on car payments put toward your house.
  10. Think about ways you can earn extra money in your free time, such as babysitting, painting, editing etc. Even if you work only a few hours a week, it all adds up.
  11. Of course do all the obvious check around as see where you can cut on expenses, such as phone, car, cable etc.
  12. Put all your loose change in a jar, every so offen empty it out, and you will be suprised at how much money you will have save.
